The Padel Local is a brand new padel club for North Leeds — opening in Alwoodley, bringing the world's fastest-growing racket sport home. Two covered, FIP-spec courts under a full canopy. Coaching for every level, from your first session to your tightest match. Plus a coffee, the clubhouse and a viewing terrace for the days you'd rather watch. We open Summer 2026, and the waitlist is open now.
Padel is easy to start and hard to put down — yet until now, North Leeds has had nowhere to play it properly. The Padel Local changes that. Founded by qualified coaches Oliver and Adam, we're a padel club rooted in Alwoodley: serious about the sport, relaxed about everything else, and warm enough that no one feels out of place. We're based inside the Alwoodley Community Association on The Avenue, minutes from Moortown, Roundhay, Chapel Allerton, Shadwell and Harewood. Proper courts, proper coaching and proper coffee — close to home, with no trek across the city.
Our two panoramic courts are built to International Padel Federation (FIP) standard and sit under a full, all-weather canopy. That one decision is the whole point: you play year-round, rain or shine, on glass-backed courts that look and feel like the ones on tour. No washed-out winters and no cancelled bookings. Under the canopy, evening play has its own atmosphere — floodlit, sheltered and unmistakably premium. It's padel as the Leeds climate should allow.
Never held a racket? Start here. Oliver and Adam run beginner, intermediate and advanced group sessions, plus one-to-one private coaching for players chasing a specific gain. The aim is simple: get you confident, get you competitive, and make every session the highlight of your week. Whether you're learning the bandeja from scratch or sharpening a game you already love, our coaching is built to move you forward, fast.
The Padel Local is a place to linger. Order a coffee or a bite, browse the clubhouse for rackets, balls and grips, or hire equipment if you've arrived empty-handed. Changing rooms get you on court without fuss, and the garden terrace is made for watching a match with a drink in hand. As part of the Alwoodley Community Association, membership also opens the bar, live sport and the wider events calendar — so the club works just as well on the nights you're not playing.
